Almost one year after Louis Bardot was adopted into Sandra Bullock's life -- the little guy had his very first meeting with Santa Claus ... to ask for another Christmas miracle.

The meeting went down in Southern California earlier this month -- when Sandra and Louis rolled over to a party at the Shadow Hills Riding Club ... a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities.

Natalie Portman Banner Year Alongside Sandra Bullock's Roller Coaster Ride ... - Associated Content

Natalie Portman is starring in the film "Black Swan," and the Oscar world is all abuzz. She trained for months for her role as a ballerina for this dark film, transforming her body into a more-than-fit dancer.Hopefully her hard work physically and mentally will pay off for her when the Oscars are given out. Portman is also engaged to choreographer Benjamin Millepied, expecting their first child together as well.

With the Oscar whispers growing louder in Hollywood, one cannot forget last year's leading lady who claimed the award for Best Lead Actress, Sandra Bullock. Bullock looked the part of a Hollywood star on Oscar night, with her then-husband Jesse James by her side. It seemed like a perfect night for Bullock, capping off a stream of awards for her acting role in the movie "The Blind Side."

Just a few days later, the tabloid and media world was in a frenzy after it was revealed that Sandra's husband had had an affair, and another, until a small crowd of women came forward to reveal James' infidelities. Talk about a low blow to your spouse at such unimaginable timing.

Bullock stayed out of the media spotlight as much as possible, which I applaud her for. She could have talked and gotten paid for many interviews to reveal her side of the story, her struggle and bad-mouthed Jesse James all she wanted. Instead, she privately dealt with her emotions with people she trusted and stayed a classy woman.

After the appropriate amount of time, Bullock resurfaced in the spotlight, handling herself and her situation in a way only she could, and how the public admires her for that. Sandra joked about herself and what she had gone through, politely asking everyone to move on during an awards show.

To top it off, Bullock announced the adoption of a baby boy, Louis, at an appropriate time. She had started the process of adoption while she was still married to James, but kept it quiet until the world needed to know on her terms.

Sandra Bullock, Oprah Winfrey Among 2011 Oscar Present - MTV.com

Sandra Bullock took home a Best Actress trophy at the 2010 Oscars for her acclaimed turn in "The Blind Side," and now the star will be on hand to present an award at next year's big event when it takes place on February 27.

Oscar nominee Oprah Winfrey and Oscar winners Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry and Marisa Tomei also are part of the list of 2011 Academy Awards presenters that the show's producers released on Monday. More Oscar presenters are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks, while the nominees will be announced on January 25. Meanwhile, the nominees for the Golden Globes were revealed on Tuesday, with films like "The Social Network" and "The King's Speech."

Oscar night will be hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco, with the latter actor also figuring to play an even more prominent part in the ceremony. The 32-year-old is considered a lock to nab a Best Actor nomination for his turn as a trapped hiker in "127 Hours," the Danny Boyle-directed drama that's also expected to compete for Best Picture honors.

The 28-year-old Hathaway, meanwhile, remains a long shot in the Best Actress category for her role in "Love & Other Drugs," which received mixed reviews and reeled in just $14 million over the extended Thanksgiving holiday.

Hiring Franco and Hathaway as hosts certainly marks a strategic turn by the Academy, which has long been accused of being out of touch with the young pop-culture mainstream. A quick scan of Oscar history shows that, over the last two decades, no previous host has been younger than 40 when emceeing the show. Most recently, 64-year-old Steve Martin and 51-year-old Alec Baldwin assumed co-hosting duties, notching the event's best ratings in five years.

The 83rd Academy Awards will air live from Los Angeles on ABC.

Americans want to live next to Sandra Bullock - Relocation.com

Americans want to live next to Sandra Bullock

December 29, 2010 - When considering which celebrity they would most like to share a fence with, most Americans would prefer moving next door to Sandra Bullock, according to a new survey.

Each year, the website Zillow takes a survey to determine which celebrities Americans would most like to call their neighbors. In 2010, Bullock, who won a Best Actress Oscar this year for her performance in "The Blind Side," received 26 percent of the vote. Bullock also endured a widely-publicized split from her husband, Jesse James, after it was revealed he had had a number of indiscretions. The story may have gained Bullock more sympathy from females, 30 percent of which said they would enjoy living in the same neighborhood as her.

On the other side of the coin was the cast of the MTV reality show Jersey Shore, who were named by 26 percent of respondents as the worst possible celebrity neighbors.

"It was voyeuristic fun getting to know the Jersey Shore crew as they partied and fist-pumped week after week on reality television - but do we want to live 'up close and personal' next door? Americans said no way," said Zillow vice president of marketing and communications Amy Bohutinsky.

Fewer buyers considered relocating to the Jersey Shore over the past few months. The New Jersey Association of Realtors reported that existing home sales in the state dropped in this year's third quarter.

9. SSPIDER-MAN ON BROADWAY: It"s the most expensive Broadway production in history ($65 million), yet it has had the most mishaps. All that money for a production that has become the most dangerous show on Broadway with accidental falls by stunt devils and actors.

8. LINDSAY LOHAN: Lohan was in the headlines just about every other day for violating her probation, going to court and then heading to the Betty Ford Center. Let"s hope the new year means sobriety for Lindsay.

7. LADY GAGA: Fashion icon, activist and scandalous; this year, she was all three. From her meat dress at the VMAs, to her leading SDon"t ask, don"t tell rallies, to her much-talked-about racy video with Beyonce, STelephone, Lady Gaga made sure her presence was felt in 2010. And her album SFame Monster was nominated for Grammy album of the year.

6. SGLEE: Our favorite musical teens had a great year and constantly made headlines. Cast members faced drama with the backlash over their provocative GQ cover. But on the bright side, they lead the Golden Globes with five nominations, and they had just about every celebrity in the world on their show this year.

5. SLOST, S24: Sadly, we said farewell to both shows. S24 had a great run, beginning in 2001, and its end in May still left fans wanting more. SLost fans mourned as the show concluded with everyone dying, but all good things must come to an end.

4. SAMERICAN IDOL: Simon Cowell, the loudmouth who often sent SIdol hopefuls home in tears, made his exit from SAmerican Idol this year to be the executive producer and judge on another show, SEx Factor. His sarcasm and wit will be missed.

3. MEL GIBSON: Gibson"s vile rants toward his now ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva were heard all over the world. Mel has made degrading comments about other people and groups, but these were among his worst.

2. SANDRA BULLOCK: Everyone"s heart went out to Sandra Bullock this year. She reached the pinnacle of any actor"s career by winning an Academy Award for best actress (in SThe Blind Side). She gave a heartfelt speech in which she thanked her husband, Jesse James, for being such a great supporter, but it soon came out that he had been cheating on her. Then she announced that, newly single, she was going ahead with her adoption of a baby.

1. CONAN O"BRIEN: Our No. 1 spot goes to funny man Conan O"Brien. He was knocked off NBC to make room for Jay Leno, but he signed with TBS to host a new show, SConan. The buzz was huge, and to many he didn"t disappoint and is still the king of late-night TV.

Pet Rock's (little) woman of the year: Willow Smith - Newsday

Actress and singer Willow Smith arrives at the

MTV chose Lady Gaga. People magazine chose Sandra Bullock. Glamour magazine chose Fergie, Julia Roberts, Donatella Versace and others. So who is our woman of the year? Willow Smith, that's who. Sure, at 10 she's not technically a woman or even a tween, for that matter. But in 2010 the tiny popstar created a name for herself and broke free of her family name.

So why else did Pet Rock choose Willow? Well, she came out of nowhere! Early this year the spotlight was heavy on her brother, Jaden, for his roles in two blockbuster hits, SThe Day After Tomorrow and SThe Karate Kid. She was just the adorable little sister. But, when she came on the scene as the new signee to Jay-Z"s Roc Nation record label, she was like a bomb that exploded on the music scene. And no one saw her coming.

Her hit single, SWhip My Hair, had the Internet and social media sites buzzing for weeks. It was in constant rotation on the airwaves, and she probably caused a lot of injuries with women attempting to whip their hair in the clubs.

She quickly stole the hearts of many when she premiered her video on BET's "106 and Park" and cried after receiving a plaque from the "106" cast.

Everything from her hair to her choice of clothing had everyone's eyes glued to what this second-generation celebrity was on the brink of. She has often been compared to a younger version of Rihanna. It's doubtful their music will be the same, but she seems to have what it takes to reach that level of stardom. Having famous parents surely helped to boost the young singer into the spotlight, but she's proved that she's out to make a name for herself in the music world.

Our young star caused crazy buzz on the net for reasons that weren"t so great as well. She did admit to falling behind in school because of her new career and busy schedule. This is certainly something to be frowned upon, but mama Smith probably won't let that go on for too much longer.

For being young, fresh, unique and able to take the shine away from some of the veterans in the game, Willow Smith is Pet Rock"s (little) woman of the year.

Mel Gibson, Sandra Bullock, Justin Bieber among saint and sinner celebs of the ... - Vancouver Sun

To accuse Jesse James, Snooki, Lindsay Lohan and Mel Gibson of being poor role models this year is to forget about all the people out there who aspire to be cheaters, punchlines, jailbirds and, we suppose, rose-gardeners.

So 2010 wasn't exactly a paradigm of celebrity virtue. But not every star was a falling one, thanks to the likes of Sandra Bullock, Taylor Swift and a certain Canadian singer with the most famous bangs since Bettie Page.

Today, we take a look back at the newsmakers that, for better or worse, were afforded enough ink this year to start their own printing press.

Mel Gibson: Leaked phone conversations between the actor and former flame Oksana Grigorieva win "Mad Mel" the dubious honour of Meltdown of the Year. The expletive-laden recordings included ferocious verbal abuse, sexual intimidation, racial slurs, and the now infamous threat, "I'll put you in a fing rose garden."

But, you know, we don't want to judge Mel until we've walked a mile in his hoofs.

Sandra Bullock: Barely a week after winning her first Oscar ironically, for a movie called The Blind Side Bullock was sucker-punched by allegations that her husband of five years, Jesse James, had been unfaithful. Throughout the ensuing divorce, the winsome actress remained the picture of grace and resilience, even managing to keep secret the fact that she'd adopted a baby boy at the height of her public pain.

"Whoever established the high road, and how high it should be, should be fired," Bullock later quipped.

Lindsay Lohan: In May, star-watchers everywhere were surely shocked when a warrant was issued for LiLo's arrest, suggesting that the 84 minutes of "hard time" she did in 2007 hadn't reformed her. The troubled actress spent the year in and out of court not to mention jail and made enough trips to rehab that she's surely earned enough loyalty points for a free stay.

Conan O'Brien: After a falling-out with Jay Leno and NBC, the Internet rallied around the affable comedian, who briefly went on to become the only celeb on the planet more overexposed than Betty White.

Kanye West: The divisive rapper's often preposterous musings on Twitter ("I hate when I'm on a flight and I wake up with a water bottle next to me like oh great now I gotta be responsible for this water bottle") endeared him once again to culture vultures, more than a million of whom signed on to follow his every word er, tweet.

Also helping West make news were a jaw-dropping performance on Saturday Night Live; the ambitious debut of his 35-minute film, Runaway; widespread critical praise for his fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy; a notoriously awkward interview with Matt Lauer; and West's much-discussed debut of diamond teeth on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Justin Bieber: The famously coiffed Canadian pop star started the year with an album that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and things only went up from there. A sold-out tour, his own Google search engine, the announcement of a 3D movie, numerous award wins, and a dust-up at a B.C. laser-tag facility one which made the singer the unlikely face of anti-bullying, this year's cause celebre were among The Biebs' many headlines.

Failing a vaccine against Bieber Fever, it's likely the young heartthrob will only continue his reign of hair in 2011.

The Palins: From the TLC reality show Sarah Palin's Alaska to Bristol Palin's confounding success on Dancing with the Stars, this was the year that America's most talked-about political family "refudiated" convention and went Hollywood. What we want to know is: who's watching Russia while they're gone?

Taylor Swift: With a hit movie, four Grammy wins, sold-out concerts, a TV special and a new album that topped one million in unit sales in its first week, it's easy to see why this country crossover artist was named Entertainment Weekly's youngest-ever Entertainer of the Year. And Swift's juicy new relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal certainly won't give her a break from the headlines in the weeks to come.

Snooki: Jersey Shore couldn't be ignored in 2010. We know because we tried. Of all the breakout stars produced by the MTV reality show, Snooki aka Nicole Polizzi was undoubtedly the one who earned the most ink.

Under the pint-sized punchline's belt this year were countless talk-show appearances, endorsement deals, a high-profile arrest, a Halloween costume in her likeness, a book deal (if she asks nicely, maybe someone will read it to her) and even a presidential mention at the White House Correspondents Association dinner.

Had this "guidette" been any more exposed, Playboy could've sued for trademark infringement.

Sandra Bullock Takes Louis to Visit Santa - Gather Celebs News Channel

Actress Sandra Bullock took her one-year-old son Louis Bardot to visit Santa. It's something that every parent (who celebrates Christmas) does with their children, and it's sort of a right of passage. For Bullock to be able to experience this with her own baby is really special.

47135, NEW YORK,NEW YORK - Saturday November 6. 2010. Sandra Bullock steps out of her New York City apartment holding her baby son Louis close. Louis Bardo Bullock was born in New Orleans and adopted by Sandra in January this year. Photograph: PacificCoastNews.comIn the photos obtained by TMZ, you can see Louis sitting on Santa's lap and then joined by his mom in another shot. It's a really sweet moment, and you can just tell by Bullock's posture and expression that she is just the proudest mama, ever!

After the year that Sandra Bullock had, it's great to know that she has joy in her life by way of her adorable son. It's really hard to go through a divorce (never mind a public one), but Louis Bardot may have saved her. Louis is likely too little to understand Christmas and Santa, but Bullock can appreciate every moment that she spends with her baby this holiday season and the ones to come.

Sandra Bullock Named People's Woman Of The Year - MTV.com

As the conclusion of 2010 fast approaches, end-of-year superlatives have been popping up in every corner of the entertainment media world. Time just named Mark Zuckerberg its Person of the Year. Entertainment Weekly dubbed Taylor Swift the Entertainer of the Year. And MTV News has been busy doling out a slew of year-end tributes: Eminem and Katy Perry were just named our #2 man and #2 woman of the year, and on Friday, we'll name the folks who nabbed our top honors.

People also got in on the action, naming Sandra Bullock the magazine's Woman of the Year. No doubt she's had a spectacular year and triumphed over adversity. She started off by winning the Best Actress Oscar, based on her performance in the uplifting drama "The Blind Side."

"Did I really earn this, or did I just wear you all down?" she said in her classic acceptance speech.

But shortly after that triumphant night, her family was rocked by scandal when news broke that husband Jesse James had been carrying on an extramarital affair. Bullock temporarily disappeared from view and proceeded with plans to adopt a son she named Louis Bardo.

"Bad things happen, but she celebrates the good ones," a source tells People. "And Louis is a wonderful celebration of good things."

Bullock returned to the public spotlight in June, showing up at the MTV Movie Awards to accept the Generation Award. "No matter what you might have seen or heard or read lately, I love what I do," she said onstage. "And I'm not going anywhere. Speaking of what you might have read or heard lately, I thought I'd take this moment to clear up a couple things."

She then pulled out a slip of paper and read, "I am not dead. Number 2, everybody has cellulite, not just me. Paparazzi need more flattering lenses. Whoever established the high road and how high it was going to be should be fired."

Do you think Sandra Bullock deserves People's Woman of the Year honor? Tell us in the comments.

Does Sandra Minus Jesse Equal More Nannies for the Kids? - E! Online (blog)

With all these celebrity breakups, I'm wondering how the kids fare. Do they get a second set of nannies?
NanFan, via the inbox

You mean if Sandra Bullock hosts her ex-husband's kid, Sunny, for Christmas, will Jesse James' preferred nanny heat up the cocoa while Janine Lindemulder's preferred nanny drops in the little marshmallows? Interesting. Here's what I've learned...

It all depends on whether the exes are behaving themselves.

"If the couple gets along, then the best thing for both the mom, the dad and the children, is that the nanny stays with the children and goes back and forth between the homes," says Claudia Kahn of the tony agency The Help Co. "That has been the case with most of my clients."

Actually the better term may be nannies, as in plural. Because it's pretty typical for one celebrity child to requirerequire, mind you!at least two nannies, if not three, in rotation throughout the day and night.

"There is always 24-hour care for Hollywood children regardless of their parents' marital status," says Rebecca Stewart of VIP Nannies Inc.

TWITTER: Got a question for the B!tch? Ask it instantly on Twitter!

All that said, if the ex-spouses really don't get along, the kids may end up with two separate sets of nannies. Yes. That would mean about six or so nannies for one child.

"The nanny (or nannies) usually go with one parent or the other, and that one parent becomes the nannies' sole employer," former Hollywood nanny and baby sleep coach Suzanne Hansen tells me. And if the other parent resents that lack of control, he or she may hire a second set of hands reporting solely to the other party.

That's what happened a few years ago with Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards, for example. Sheen wanted to hire his own nannies for their kidsand Denise, apparently, would have none of it. So, only three nannies were available for the kids' cocoa, in that case.

Eva Longoria to Make Like Sandra Bullock, Adopt Baby Amid Shocking Split? - The Hollywood Gossip

Eva Longoria is getting divorced from Tony Parker following a shocking sexting scandal (thanks, Erin Barry) that rocked this seemingly perfect couple.

Because Sandra Bullock adopted a baby following her equally stunning split from Jesse James this year, In Touch thinks it would do Eva good, too.

The irony, of course, is that Bullock and James actually adopted Louis together, and agreed she would have sole custody after their split. Oh well:

A Baby For Eva Longoria?

ON HER OWN: We'll believe this one when we see it.

The ridiculous thing, aside from the fact that this scandal pales in comparison to the Bullock-James-Michelle McGee drama, is the Eva photo they used.

At first glance, you'd actually assume Longoria posed for this, opening up to the publication about the divorce and her empowering maternal instincts.

In reality, it's likely years old. Come on, In Touch. Just because you're looking to recreate the Sandra Bullock scandal doesn't mean you can fool THG.

Sandra Bullock takes the high road, Mel Gibson hits the gutter - Ottawa Citizen

It seemed there were more scandals, affairs and meltdowns among the rich and famous than usual in 2010. Luckily, there are still a few stars who shouldn't expect lumps of coal in their stockings this year. See which celebrities made Santa's naughty list, and which ones restored our faith in famous folks.

Nice

Renee Zellweger

Celebrities and the paparazzi usually have an antagonistic relationship, but when Renee Zellweger was in a Santa Monica Starbucks on March 11, a paparazzo noticed her parking meter was about to expire, and slipped a few coins into it. When the Bridget Jones star came out and saw what he did, she popped back into Starbucks and returned with a $100 gift card. According to Us Weekly, the note attached read, "Wow. Thank you so much for the kindness. Warmly, with gratitude, Renee!"

Brandy

Brandy has been keeping a low profile, but her turn on Dancing with the Stars brought her back into the spotlight. The singer/actress used her renewed fame to raise money for 16-year-old Jessica Harris, who suffers from a congenital heart defect. Brandy flew Harris and her family, who live in her hometown of Mc-Comb, Mississippi, to Hollywood for a taping of DWTS. Brandy then appeared on Entertainment Tonight with Harris to promote a website dedicated to raising funds for a heart transplant for the uninsured girl.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock's year has been a roller-coaster of highs and lows. She started off on top, winning a slew of awards for her role in The Blind Side.

Bullock won an Oscar. But weeks after her big victory, her personal life exploded as allegations surfaced that husband Jesse James had cheated on her. Bullock not only managed to navigate the ensuing scandal with dignity and grace, she even kept a huge secret in the middle of the most scrutinized period of her life: She had adopted a little boy, Louis Bardo, and waited to break the news on her own time-line. While accepting the Generation Award at July's MTV Movie Awards, Bullock even managed to laugh about her personal dramas, saying, "Whoever established the high road, and how high it was going to be, should be fired."

Oprah

Oprah doesn't just give away cool stuff to members of her audience. In November, the New York Post reported that Oprah was sitting in her limo outside NYC's Soho House when a man approached and offered to tell her a joke. She liked so much, she gave him $100. The joke: "Why is it good to date a homeless man? Because when you're finished, you can drop him off anywhere!"

Justin Timberlake

Speaking of Oprah, the talk-show host made one woman's dream come true when she received a letter from a mother in Louisville, Kentucky, that detailed her daughter Julie's obsession with Justin Timberlake. Oprah enlisted Julie's fiance to help surprise her with golf lessons -- and the instructor ended up being Timberlake. The singer/ actor not only showed Julie the ropes, he also gave her and her fiance a set of his-and-her clubs and inivited them to be his guests at the opening of his Tennessee golf course, Mirimichi.

Naughty

Mel Gibson

Remember when Mel Gibson was picked up for drunk driving in 2006 and unleashed an expletive-laden, anti-Semitic rant on the arresting officers? That seems downright tame compared to the onslaught of leaked audio tapes that hit the web this year, in which Gibson verbally abuses ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, including, "I will bury you in the rose garden." The tapes cost him his agent, his cameo in The Hangover 2 and possibly his career.

Charlie Sheen

Welcome back to the naughty list, Charlie Sheen. After celebrating last Christmas in jail after being arrested on domestic violence allegations, Sheen once again made headlines by going on an allegedly cocaine-fuelled rampage at New York's Plaza Hotel in October. Porn star Capri Anderson, who was with the actor at the time, claimed she locked herself in a hotel bathroom while Sheen raged, yelled racial slurs and threatened to kill her.

John Mayer

John Mayer has never shied away from oversharing, but he stooped to new lows in an interview in Playboy's March issue, saying of ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson, "That girl is like crack cocaine to me... Sexually, it was crazy. That's all I'll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm." He also said that he didn't sleep with black women and described his penis as "sort of like a white supremacist." For her part, Simpson declared, "He'll never have this napalm again."

Lindsay Lohan

It was another year filled with court appearances and jail stints for troubled actress Lindsay Lohan. In April, she missed two court hearings and questions were raised about her attendance at probation-mandated AA meetings. The rest of the year was filled with excuses from the starlet (she missed a drug test because her passport was "stolen," her bail was doubled after her alcohol-monitoring bracelet went off at an MTV Awards party), until she was finally sentenced to 90 days in jail in July.

During her sentencing hearing, she was photographed with the phrase "F-- U" stencilled onto her nail polish, which she later claimed was "a joke."

Jesse James

When allegations were made public that Sandra Bullock's hubby Jesse James was cheating on her, salacious details pouring in about James' tattooed mistress, kinky nicknames and Nazi-saluting poses. Humiliating America's sweetheart is a surefire way to get on Santa's naughty list.

Will 'Gravity' Be Sandra Bullock's 'Aeon Flux'? - PopEater

Downey Jr. isn't the only A-lister to back off this project. Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, Marion Cotillard and Natalie Portman also reportedly bowed out of the 3D project for various reasons.

It looks like the movie is a go for now and will start filming this spring, giving Sandy plenty of time to finish filming the Stephen Daldry drama, 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,' with Tom Hanks.

But there is no telling which film will actually be in the can and reach audiences first, begging the question, will 'Gravity' be Bullock's 'Aeon Flux'? Will we see her collect yet another Razzie? And if so, why would Sandy and George take it on?

"The 'Gravity' script is a good one, much better than it sounds when described in a couple of lines in a news story where it admittedly sounds like sci-fi crap," one studio exec who has read the script tells PopEater. "It is actually a very human story about a woman with a very serious mission."

Still, it remains a diversion for Bullock who typically shines in comedic fare and more recently dramas that are a little closer to home. But the glow of an Oscar can make anyone believe they are invincible.

"I don't think any actor who actually has the means to be choosey purposely chooses a bad movie," says Paul Dergarabedian, President of the box-office division of Hollywood.com. "I do think that recent Oscar winners feel impervious to the usual rules that apply. I think they feel invincible. What they need to remember is that the American people have a short memory. One year you can do Academy-Award winning work and the next do a bad movie. People will remember the bad movie."

There's no telling if 'Gravity' will be a 3D out of this world flop or a masterpiece. At the end of the day if it stars Sandy and George in three dimensions, it can't be a complete wash.

Hide Yo Kids! Hide Yo Wife! 2010's Worst Moments - ABC News

If 2010 made you feel like you wanted to hide in a closet and bury yourself under all the coats, then you were probably just trying to escape the storm of sleaze hurled this year by some of entertainment's finest or maybe you were just the woman Charlie Sheen called for that infamous late-night hookup.

Either way, 2010 may have been Hollywood's nadir year: Mad Mel raged again; "Cheaters" could have done a whole celebrity season with plenty to spare for next year; and Kanye was ... well, Kanye. And when the most promising newcomer is a glamorous yet sassy young thing named Antoine Dodson whose song about his sister's attempted rape made him a YouTube star, it's time to call it a day, hit the reset button and hope for a lot better in 2011.

Here's what made us want to hide the kids, hide the wife ... and hide our husbands, too, in 2010.

DROPPING THE BOMB: Any chance that Jesse James had at forgiveness after he cheated on America's Sweetheart, Sandra Bullock, and ruined her Oscar glow were destroyed when we saw who he was cheating with Michelle "Bombshell" McGee, better known as Ms. March in the "Tattooed Nazi" calendar. She kind of made us nostalgic for Tiger Woods' mistresses. Rachel Uchitel, where are you when we need you?

DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND: Even if they're a gift from a villainous dictator, apparently. Naomi Campbell was forced to testify at the war-crimes trial of former Liberian President Charles Taylor after it was revealed that he had given the temperamental model several raw diamonds as a gift after a party (because that's just what dictators do). After some questionable testimony, there seemed to be a chance that Campbell could be charged with perjury but apparently a threat of a Blackberry to the head resulted in changing some minds.

SHE'S JUST BEING MILEY: And being Miley these days includes drinking, giving men lap dances, wearing barely there outfits and smoking on a bong. Can she please go back to being Hannah Montana again?

EXCLUSIVE: Jesse James' Ex Furious Their Daughter Spending Christmas With ... - Radar Online

Janine Lindemulder's lawyer Richard Masson will fight to make sure her daughter Sunny James is with her mom for Christmas -- and not Sandra Bullock, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Originally, Jesse James reportedly had planned to spend Christmas with his Oscar winning ex-wife and her adopted son Louis Bardot, Sunny and his other two kids, Chandler, 14, and Jesse Jr., 12.

Masson is fuming that James is snubbing the courts by refusing to pay his legal bills, child support payments and not giving his client (Lindemulder) access to their seven-year-old daughter either. A rep for James did not return a request for comment.

PHOTOS: Sandra Bullock & Jesse James Through The Years

A source told RadarOnline.com: "Richard will file an emergency motion if he has to before Christmas because Sunny is supposed to be with Janine not Jesse.

"We are working actively to resolve this situation through the courts if need be because Mr. James must be compliant with their orders."

RadarOnline.com revealed how Lindemulder's mom Jonlyn hoped that her former son-in-law would be placed behind bars for his treatment of her daughter.

Masson had filed a motion for James to be found in contempt of court at a hearing before Judge David Belz on January 14, 2011, but now they could head to Santa Ana Justice Center sooner than that.

PHOTOS: Kat Von D Kisses Jesse James Goodbye -- For Now

Jonlyn Lindemulder told RadarOnline.com: "The whole situation is ridiculous. What right has he got to take Sonny to see Sandra Bullock over Christmas when Janine cannot get to see her own daughter?

"She was supposed to see her for Thanksgiving but that did not happen and he has not been making child support payments to her either.

"I hope this new judge takes a tough stance and I would love to see him sent to jail so he would smarten-up."

On November 19, 2010, Judge Belz ordered James and Lindemulder to attend a 730 Evaluation in an attempt to end their legal battle over their 7-year-old daughter.

In California, a 730 Evaluation is described as an in-depth study and investigation of the "family, it's members, and/or prospective members" and their relationship with the children.

If James chooses to continue not to pay his child support and legal fees, it is within the Judge's remit to put him behind bars.

Actresses over 40 on a cinematic roll - WDBJ7.com

In 1962, the year she was nominated for an Oscar for playing a grotesque has-been in "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?," 54-year-old Bette Davis placed an ad in Variety. "Thirty years experience as an actress in Motion Pictures," the ad read. "Mobile still and more affable than rumor would have it. Wants steady employment in Hollywood. (Has had Broadway)."

Davis would be shocked to see what middle-aged actresses are doing in 2010.

Naomi Watts spies on terrorists, Diane Lane raises a champion racehorse, Julia Roberts decamps to an ashram. Nicole Kidman mourns a child, Helen Mirren orchestrates a shipwreck, Halle Berry splits personalities. Tilda Swinton falls in love over some prawns and Annette Bening and Julianne Moore raise teens, knock boots and tangle with a sperm donor.

Hollywood, an industry so often driven by the ids of 14-year-old boys, used to usher actresses into retirement after they lit their 39th birthday candle. But this year, leading ladies in their 40s, 50s and 60s have elbowed their way onto the screen in an abundance of principal roles in both studio and independent films.

This bumper crop of movies starring older actresses comes thanks to an increasingly valuable cinema-going audience of women over 35, an especially dogged new generation of actress-producers, and society's increasing willingness to see women in middle age as still vibrant and sexy.

According to the Screen Actors Guild, in 2003 women older than 40 accounted for 11% of the female film and TV roles (excluding reality shows); by 2009 that number was up to 28%. There's still a gender gap when it comes to age in Hollywood men in the over-40 category nabbed 42% of the roles last year, but older actresses are gaining ground.

"It's time, and I'm grateful to see there being room enough for women to be adults on screen," says Lane, 45, who starred in this fall's Disney family drama "Secretariat" as a Colorado housewife who takes over her family's horse racing business. "This has been skewed for a few millennia."

One reason this millennium may be different for actresses is a growing awareness in the movie industry of the untapped potential of older audiences, especially female ones. The women who helped drive box office hits such as "The Blind Side," "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Sex and the City" would rather go out and watch Meryl Streep flirt with Alec Baldwin than stay home and play on their X-Boxes like the young adults that studios so often court. They're also less likely to watch pirated movies.

"A lot of the new distractions video games, social networking affect younger moviegoers more than older moviegoers," says Andrew Kosove, co-founder of Alcon Entertainment, which produced "The Blind Side." "If you're a 40-year-old married woman, you want to go out on date night Saturday night. You're not staying home and toddling on Facebook."

Women, who buy 55% of movie tickets according to the Motion Picture Assn. of America, are inclined to watch actresses they've grown up with and relate to, like Sandra Bullock, who won the lead actress Oscar at age 45 for last year's "The Blind Side." Thanks to a 28-week run in theaters, "The Blind Side" became the first movie carried by a single top-billed female star to pass the $200-million mark domestically.

Streep, 61, has been on a golden box-office streak, starting with 2006's "Devil," followed by "Mamma Mia!" in 2008, and "Julie & Julia" and "It's Complicated" last year. Those four films took in $476 million in the U.S. alone and $809 million overseas, with "Mamma Mia!" beating the James Bond film released that year at the box office.

"Meryl is enjoying this great renaissance in her career," says Donna Langley, co-chair of Universal Pictures, which distributed "Mamma Mia!" and "It's Complicated." "She's able to capitalize on the goodwill her audience has for her, and reach new audiences."

A project in development at Universal would unite Bullock, Streep and Oprah Winfrey a stunning trifecta of mid-life female empowerment in a film from "Sex and the City" writer-director Michael Patrick King set at a home shopping network. For women of a certain age, this would be the equivalent of Captain America, Iron Man and the Hulk finally linking up in "The Avengers."

Bullock and Streep have had a trickle-down effect on other actresses, reminding producers and executives of an audience hungry to see its own demographic depicted on screen.

"There was a time where people weren't interested in female-driven dramas," says Watts, 42, who played CIA agent Valerie Plame in this fall's politico-marital drama "Fair Game." "But Sandra Bullock winning had an effect, and we're in a good place right now. My career is, in a way, better than ever. When you're over 40 that's not supposed to be the case, but it is."

Some actresses are finding the right screen roles not by widening their reach, as Streep and Bullock have, but by taking on new off-camera roles as producers. "Rabbit Hole," a drama due in theaters on Friday, is the first project Kidman starred in and produced for her company, Blossom Films.

"Unless I produce, it's rare that I get to read scripts of substance," says Kidman, 43, who has multiple other projects in the works at her company, including one based on the British novel "Little Bee" and another about the first male-to-female transsexual. "I read books and go, 'OK, let's option this.' The expectation on the budget needs to be realistic, but it can be done."

The budget for "Rabbit Hole," which is based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning play and costars Aaron Eckhart, was under $5 million, and Kidman's performance, as a stoic mother coping with the death of her child, is being buzzed about as worthy of an Oscar nomination.

Tilda Swinton spent 11 years as a producer developing "I Am Love," an operatic Italian arthouse film about a passionate woman at the heart of a family scandal that was released in June. "I Am Love" earned a respectable $5 million in very limited release, and garnered rhapsodic reviews for Swinton's performance, which required her to speak Italian in a Russian accent.

Swinton, 50, has been working steadily since her 20s, but her most mainstream roles in movies such as "Michael Clayton" and "The Chronicles of Narnia," series came after she turned 40. "By 40, people know what you can do," Swinton says. "And when you've been working for a fair amount of time, there's a confidence in your own ability."

Halle Berry, 44, also produced her new movie, "Frankie and Alice," a psychological drama based on the true story of a black woman whose multiple personalities include a white racist.

All of these films have the kind of virtuosic roles that actors relish, and the kind of contemplative subject matter studios shy from. Not waiting for a director or executive to cast them in something meaty, these actress-producers take their careers into their own hands.

For years, director Lisa Cholodenko struggled to raise money for an unusual project an indie comedy starring two actresses over 40. "I would get disheartened and think I should have made it easier on myself and written some rom-com for the 20s set," Cholodenko says. Her film, "The Kids Are All Right," about a lesbian couple who meet their sperm donor, eventually came together starring Moore, who just turned 50, and Bening, 52.

In casting, Cholodenko deliberately sought out actresses who were not only over 40, but aging naturally. "One of the many reasons why I cast these women is because they look their age and they're still really sexy and beautiful." "The Kids Are All Right" went on to become an arthouse hit and an Oscar favorite, and Bening and Moore models for a kind of post- Botox sex appeal.

Thanks to healthier lifestyles, longer lifespans and post-Botox or not an array of dermatological interventions, a 50-year-old woman just isn't as old as she used to be.

"For a long time it's been youthful sexuality that's important and if you're youthful, sexuality is accepted, but if you're not, how could one possibly be sexy?" says British actress Lesley Manville, 54, who plays a flirtatious, lonely Londoner in Mike Leigh's new film, "Another Year." "But they're playing women who are sexy and sexually active. That's important, because it re-tunes people's thinking."

Aging can even liberate actresses from stock roles defined by their beauty. "Women in their 20s and 30s have to play the girlfriend," says Melissa Silverstein, founder of the blog Women & Hollywood. "Once they hit 40, we can see them as real people."

For Mirren, 65, aging out of ingnue-hood led to her best work. "I was very lucky when I was no longer the juicy young thing anymore," Mirren says. "That was when I was asked to do 'Prime Suspect,' and that took me into the next generation of work. Sometimes you have to make an effort to find that bridge for yourself."
